A new mentorship programme, exclusively for Union members has been launched as part of the 50th Union World Conference on Lung Health, 30 October – 2 November, in Hyderabad, India.
Union members form an international network influencing public health and working to improve health among people living in poverty. The Union’s membership includes professionals from across the globe from every sector, including researchers, clinicians, health programme managers, policymakers, public health professionals, and advocates.
Mentorship Moments offers Union members an opportunity to gather expertise and advice from more experienced mentors. Mentors are both Union members and staff, who bring a wealth of knowledge on topics such as successful abstract submissions, paper or grant writing, career development or opportunities and roles in The Union.
Dr Jeremiah Chakaya Muhwa, President of The Union, welcomed the new initiative saying, “As a membership organisation, The Union is in the perfect position to bring members together to combine skills, networks, and shared resources. The mentorship programme will hopefully support the next generation of scientists, research and healthworkers to buld their careers in our united goal to end TB, tobacco use, air pollution and lung disease.”
Mentees and mentors will meet during the Union World Conference. If you are interested in joining the programme, please ensure you are a member of The Union.
Union members are able to immediately qualify for the programme, and can register here as a mentee.
Mentorship Moments participants must be a registered attendee of the 50th Union World Conference on Lung Health and be a current Union member.
