Scholarships Selection: Review System

The Coordinating Committee of Scientific Activities (CCSA) of the Union World Conference base their scholarship selection decisions upon the review criteria below.

Scholarship submission was closed on 1 July:

  • 328 scholarship submissions were received for accepted symposia speakers and abstract authors. Submissions will be reviewed by at least two people from the CCSA and heads of department from The Union.
  • 135 scholarship submissions were received for affected communities or community volunteers. Submissions will be reviewed by at least two people from the CCSA, The Union’s Community Advisory Panel (UCAP) and by heads of department from The Union.

Speaker scholarship: review criteria

Letter of motivation Assessed on the motivation of the applicant, their current activities in lung health and their plans for disseminating the knowledge they gain at the conference upon their return home. 0 – Very low

1 – Average

2 – Good

3 – Excellent

Letters of support One point given if candidate supplied letters of support.

The letters are also used to support the score above.
